Fire poppies are fire followers: A group of plants that use heat, smoke, or charred soil as signs to sprout. They provide cover to newly bare hillsides and reduce erosion on steep ashy slopes, without which, deadly landslides could occur when the rains hit.

My Christian Homestead Interview

I had a fun opportunity to talk to Jared from Christian Homestead Channel about the signs of the Second Coming, the church, and the scriptures. As the number of viewers for our video climbed to over 5.6k, I must admit I started feeling a lot of anxiety. Speaking in public has always made me nervous, and publishing a video on YouTube felt like speaking to a much larger audience. Despite never having been on YouTube before, I was surprised by how anxious it made me for days afterward. The idea that people were still listening and watching made me continue to feel anxious. But I did it, and I survived the experience. I feel like God nudged me to start this blog, and on the one-month anniversary of my first post, I did this interview, and my blog received over 7,500 views! It was overwhelming, but I am grateful for the experience.
