(These are my own personal thoughts and wonders. I am not an official representative of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. All views are meant to evoke wonder and pondering, not doctrine.)
On Sept 23, 2017 there was a sign in the heavens. It is another heralding event before the Second Coming! The alignment of the planets and constellations was consistent to the description of Revelation 12. If you are interested in the particulars here is a deep dive by John Pratt: http://johnpratt.com/items/docs/2016/clothed_with_sun.html (this was written by a member who is an astronomy ph.D…I don’t support many of his views or interpretations but he represents one of many who are religious astronomers that confirmed the rare imagery of Rev. 12 in the sky was spot on.) Pratt delves into the astronomy and prophecy: A woman clothed with the sun and the moon under her feet may refer to rare celestial signs of the Feast of Trumpets in 2 BC (Christ’s birth), 1832 (birth of the church), and 2017, which herald the future birth of her son, the kingdom of God on all the earth.
Here is a refresher of parts of Revelation 12: 1 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars:2 And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered….
- 13 And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child.
- 14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.
- 15 And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.
- 16 And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.
He points out: “Let’s look at this prophecy from the point of view of astronomy and calendars. The first verse tells us of a “great wonder” in heaven. The Greek word translated “wonder” is translated “sign” nearly thirty times in the New Testament (Rev. 15:1). The word “sign” when referring to the heavens often means “constellation“, as when someone asks, “What is your sign?” and the answer is the name of a constellation. The Prophet Joseph changed the word “wonder” in this verse to “sign”, which is consistent with that interpretation.
There was a lot of speculation amongst Christians as to what would happen on that day. There were many people talking about the rapture, big events, end of the world, etc. Just google “September 23 2017”. I didn’t buy into those theories, however, I do know that God tells us to “watch” and to “discern the signs of the times”. (Matthew 16:3) And also that he does use timing, seeming coincidences, and even signs in the sky to confirm truths. Genesis 1:14 “And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years.” While everyone else was watching for a huge event to take place, I was wondering if perhaps there would be some sort of fulfillment in God’s word at the General Women’s Conference on Sept 23 2017.
Here is a little background as to what hinted at the idea that Sept 23 and the Rev 12 scripture/sign might actually be connected and important.
- I ran across an article written by astronomer John Pratt, the direct descendant of Parley Pratt (the first link at the top) explaining the significance of the date and and why MANY Christians were going bonkers over it. (Just google the date and see). He is LDS and his professional training is in astronomy and sacred calendars from around the world. He pointed out that this date Sept 23, 2017 was sacred on all 9 of them!! The Revelation 12 scripture is full of important imagery relating to : Women, Celestial Glory, Light vs Darkness, and the birth/struggles of delivering the Kingdom of God (Second Coming).
- AND THEN I discovered that the first sun stone of the Nauvoo temple (this is the temple I was married in) was installed on Sept 23, 1844!!! (The same date of the upcoming revelation 12/ Sept 23 constellation of this year! ) The walls of the Nauvoo temple feature 30 pilasters, each with a moonstone at the base and a sunstone at the top. A sunstone served as the capital, or head, of each pilaster. A star stone was placed above each sunstone. The order of the stones recalled the woman described in Revelation 12, “clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars” It’s about the sun, moon stones /stars on the Nauvoo temple representing the revelation 12 prophecy.
- AND THEN I discovered that the first, #1 hymn in the original hymn book ( 1. The Morning Breaks) was written by none other than Parley Pratt. Read an article about the connection and the hymn: Here’s an article about both: https://history.lds.org/article/nauvoo-temple-sunstones?lang=eng
This connection and witness caught my attention because I was married in the Nauvoo temple, one of my convert ancestors Abraham Washburn (my maiden name), was converted by Parley Pratt, and he is documented as exclaiming to all around him that “This new gospel (the symbol of which is a woman) was like a light in the darkness and he thought everyone who heard it would see the beauty of it.” (Imagine the Rev 12 sign)His wife Tamar was adamantly opposed but Joseph Smith, his now close friend, promised that she would be miraculously converted. In a few weeks she was baptized and eventually was told by Joseph Smith that her place in the Celestial Kingdom was secure on account of her liberality. (charity to family and others)
So not only are the lights of the stars and planets aligned in a manner to display a glowing woman (symbol of the church) with all the other celestial bodies in the right place but the planet Jupiter spends 9 months looping in the womb area to then be visually born shooting out of the maiden constellations womb on Sept 23. Its also interesting to note that the first of the Blood Moon Tetrad (Christians around the world were watching this as well) that fell on Hebrew Holy Days was first seen on April 15, 2014 about 3.5 years previous. (3.5 is the time period mentioned in Rev 12 +blood and moon scripture symbolism imagery is always feminine)
There Will Always Be Beauty, Light, and Miracles in the Gospel When You Look For It I have grappled with a natural shy, nervous, fearful, anxious disposition since birth but this gift of finding how God is in control of the timing of my life through a never ending array of “calendar coincidences” steer me back to remember to “Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow…”(Matthew 6) Women of the gospel are here for such a time as this. This is your day, this is your time. (Pres Monson) I now look for the beauty in God’s timing for my life and it always manifests.
General Women’s Conference Sept 23, 2017
What a day of Wonder!: Prophetic Rev 12 imagery falling on the exact same day as the General Women’s Conference Session. The opening words by Sister Sharon Eubank were dazzling. Her talk was a command for all women of the church to “Turn on Your Light“. The prophets are calling on us, my sisters. Will you be righteous? Will you articulate your faith? Will you turn on your light?(https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/general-conference/2017/10/turn-on-your-light?lang=eng) She opened by saying “You might not know this, but President Monson and I are twins. On the very day I was born—in the very hour—in Northern California, the 36-year-old Thomas S. Monson was sustained as the newest Apostle. I love my special, personal link to the prophet of God, President Monson.” (A coincidence of dates, times, and personal links of synchronicity reminding me that women are here for such a time as this to unify and connect hearts in love!) And then her talk ends with another quote from Pres. Monson, “My dear sisters, this is your day, this is your time. In the name of Jesus Christ Amen.”
Revelation 12 and the Flood
President Monson gave a VERY empowering talk for women exactly 15 years earlier where he proclaims, “Ideals are like the stars; you will not succeed in touching them with your hands. But following them you will reach your destination. Never have women had greater influence than in today’s world. Too frequently women underestimate their influence for good.” Then he goes on to quote DC 88, and Pres Hinckley who once warned: “We live in a world of so much filth. It is everywhere. It is on the streets. It is on television. It is in books and magazines. … It is like a great flood, (Rev 12: 15 And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.) ugly and dirty and mean, engulfing the world. We have got to stand above it. … The world is slipping in its moral standards. That can only bring misery. The way to happiness lies in a return to strong family life and the observance of moral standards, the value of which has been proven through centuries of time.” 6 [Berlin Germany Regional Conference, 16 June 1996.]
President Hinkley and President Monson both revealed that there is a modern day flood threatening the church with filth, pornography, meanness, and the slipping of moral standards. This worldly flood constantly confuses, demeans, and endangers the purity, righteousness, and distinct power of women and the church. When in the history of time has it ever been controversial and confusing to ask the question, “What is a woman?”
Revelation 12 has a Solution to the Flood of Filth?
Revelation 12 :
11 For they have overcome him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony
16 And the earth helped the woman, and the Earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.
It sounds like the members of the church are Overcoming the world by the Blood of the Lamb. They are opening their mouths in power to share their testimonies of eternal truths regarding Jesus Christ. And what truths are they? Well, the Earth itself opened its mouth when a buried Book came forth out of the Earth: The Book of Mormon. This is why we as a church must follow Elder Rasband’s Oct 2022 plea to #FloodTheEarth with the truths of the Book of Mormon and wash by baptism and burn by fire of the spirit the Earth clean of the filthy waters.
Rev 12 Solutions: Overcome the world by the Blood and power of Christ. 2. Share your testimony of the Wonders and Marvels of God 3. Flood the Earth with words of the Book of Mormon.
And when we do that may this prophecy of righteousness and the burning of the Earth be fulfilled:
“When Enoch’s people obtained the presence of God, and their gifts of translation, they attempted but were not able to spread the gospel across the world and usher in an era of millennial righteousness. The world’s rejection of their witness and testimony actually brought about the flood of Noah. They mourned and prayed mightily with a combined voice that they might be privileged to see a day when righteousness would flood the earth, and evil would not be found upon her face. “ (Elder Orson Pratt, a conference address given in the Old Salt Lake City Tabernacle July 19, 1874.)
In response to their righteous prayers, the Lord covenanted with Enoch and his people that they would see just such a day, and that He would answer their prayers, but not in that season. They would return in the latter days and complete their mission, when as a result of their renewed ministry upon the mortal world, righteousness would sweep the earth (like a flood) prior to the Second Coming of Christ. The sign of these promises are displayed by the rainbow as explained in the JST Genesis.
To read more about Elder Rasband’s plea to #FloodTheEarth, read more about the rainbow covenant sign, and find out how to take action read my previous post: https://firepoppy.org/what-happens-after-the-silence-ends-section-88-and-the-rainbow-covenant-path/ As the Young Women’s President, I challenged our whole youth group and we shared the Book of Mormon with 88 people!
Following Sept 23 2017, Sister Eubank has held a special place in my heart. She is the only woman (let alone unmarried woman) to ever concurrently head the Humanitarian arm of the Church while also serving in the General Relief Society Presidency. Imagine my dismay when by “coincidence” she shows up on my 15 year wedding anniversary celebration night to my stake for a special fireside instructing young families. It was an unusually small turnout with only, maybe, 30 other people there listening. I had the great opportunity to minister to her with some homemade bread and jam, along with a written note. Inside that note was this:
Note to Sis Eubank*****************
Thank you so much for coming to teach, lift, and invigorate all of us here in my Stake. I was absolutely THRILLED to hear that you were coming. The talk you gave on Sept 23, 2017 “Turn on Your Light” was my favorite and most powerful talk I’ve ever heard. Thank you so much for speaking by the spirit. I felt your words succinctly and knew that it was a message from heaven. I felt blessed to be alive on the earth and to have heard that powerful message in that special moment of time. My words cannot convey what that talk meant. However, here is a little bit of my background so I can attempt to explain why I loved your inspired words so much. I am a mother of 5 children 10-1 years old. I have 4 daughters and one son born at the very end. My greatest joys come from raising my energetic children, reading the scriptures, and attempting to serve others in small ways. My husband is the Lakewood stake executive secretary and I am in the Primary Presidency. I have a strong desire to contribute more to humanitarian efforts and help build the kingdom of God. I think often on how I can raise and empower my daughters so that they might be a strong force for good in the world.
Years ago I was struggling a bit with how some men in the church view and treat the roles of women in the church as being inferior. Women are certainly mentioned less in the scriptures. I pondered on the oppression of women that has prevailed since the beginning of time it seems. I took my concerns to the Lord and he overwhelmed me with the assertion that “he is no respecter of persons” even if some men on Earth are at times. Also, in this day we are truly blessed with freedoms, rights, opportunities, and respect that women of the past would have died for!
I was also blessed with the personal assertion that I had been put here on the Earth to raise four strong daughters for such a time as this. We are preparing for Christ’s coming! He opened my eyes to the parallels between his appearances to women right before and after his glorious resurrection and how he will use women right before and after his glorious second coming. The story of Mary of Bethany (a story of which I was not very familiar) was emphasized to me in a special way through the spirit and a dream. As I came to study the story more thoroughly it unveiled the answers to the questions I had about how women are being used to prepare for the second coming in these last days. The scriptures portray her as a woman who listens to and treasures his words, has a relationship with Christ, and is full of wisdom and charity. So much so that she knew just how to serve Christ, himself right before the crucifixion/resurrection. She was willing to spend a year’s worth of wages and serve him in a very different and distinct way.
Elder McConkie taught “Mary of Bethany, in the home of Simon the leper, as guided by the spirit, poured costly spikenard from her alabaster box upon the head of Jesus, and also anointed his feet, so that, the next day, the ten thousands of Israel might acclaim him King and shout Hosanna to his name. We see Jesus thus anointed and acclaimed, heading a triumphal procession into the Holy City.” And then to highlight how beautiful this moment of love, service, and preparation for the resurrection was we have been given the Joseph Smith Translation of Mark14:8. It is a wonderful chiasmus! 14:8 She hath done what she could: and this which she has done unto me, shall be had in remembrance in generations to come, wheresoever my gospel shall be preached; for verily she has come beforehand to anoint my body to the burying. Verily I say unto you, wheresoever this gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world, this also that she hath done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her. (“memorial” is indicative of temple/covenant language)
A She hath done what she could…had in remembrance
B in generations to come
C wheresoever my gospel shall be preached
D for verily she has come beforehand
E to anoint my body to the burying
D verily I say unto you
C wheresoever this gospel shall be preached
B throughout the whole world
A this also that she hath done…for a memorial of her
For me, when it comes to the story of Mary of Bethany this is just the tip of the iceberg as far as the depth and importance of this act in regard to the temple, covenants our relationship to Christ, etc. I suspect there will be much more revealed to the church on this topic in the future. The main point of sharing this right now is that she embodies the principle that Christ needs righteous women who are articulate, different, distinct, and in happy ways. Mary was unafraid to be different as she let down her hair (to expose her hair and wash his feet in this public setting would have been very taboo) and served in the best way she could without regard to the criticism around her even as Judas accused, “Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence and given to the poor?”
Ever since this personal revelation I have been absolutely tuned into how we as women can mindfully and wisely help prepare for Christ’s coming. Another beautiful product of this experience was the testimony of how God uses dates and timing to witness of truths. My daughter, Mary, was born very close to the time of this event Mary of Bethany event during the Easter season (added note that she was also born on the exact day that the angel Moroni on the Salt Lake temple dropped his trumpet from the earthquake)
Since the idea of women playing a large role in preparation for Christ’s coming is so dear to my heart I have always loved the imagery of this scripture as well from JST, Revelation 12: 1 And there appeared a great sign in heaven, in the likeness of things on the earth; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars. I love how this scripture uses the imagery of a woman and light to represent the church. I imagine that the glorious light of the restored gospel will only shine in its fullness when we as women are fully committed and engaged in the work.…I continued to explain the astronomy of the heavenly Revelation 12 sign…..
While everyone else was watching for a huge event to take place, I was wondering if perhaps there would be some sort of fulfillment in God’s word at the General Women’s Conference Sept 23 2017.
You were the opening talk. It was your first time speaking in general conference, I believe. And you certainly did not disappoint. You spoke to and for the women of the church. You opened with a seeming coincidence of dates and timing. (You were born at the exact moment that President Monson was sustained an apostle.) You pleaded with us to turn on our lights. You spoke and quoted words of the prophet. You reminded us that we are preparing for Christ who says “I come quickly”. You referenced one of the greatest and most frequently repeated prophecies where President Kimball (spoken by his wife) empowered women and spoke very plainly about the equality of men and women. You prompted us women that we have a great role to play as a “significant force” in these last days. As I heard you speak the words of God, commanding us to turn on our lights, I could imagine the stars and planets in heaven lining up to resemble “in the likeness of things on the earth, a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars.” I could envision God pleading with me to shine my light and join this “significant force” of women around the world. As you spoke those powerful words I felt an electrifying charge as I imagined God painting a beautiful sign in the heavens to encourage us in this great work of building up zion and helping the church to grow. Perhaps your birthday that coincides with President Monson being called was just a coincidence.
Perhaps your words about the church growing and women turning on their lights at the same time as this highly anticipated Revelation 12 astronomy phenomenon was just a coincidence. However, in that moment of time I could see, hear, and feel the earth and heavens confirming the words of a prophet:
“My dear sisters, this is your day, this is your time.” (Thomas S. Monson)
End of Note to Sis Eubank*******************
As I race up to hand her my note and gift I tell her that Dave and I are celebrating our 15th anniversary tonight and before I can say anything else she asks, “Can I get a picture with you for my private Facebook page? Everywhere I go I highlight one person for my family to hear about.”
It feels like I could end this post here. But, there’s MORE!! The beauties and wonder of the gospel never end. You see, the sign of Rev 12 is not just about women. Its about a nation of priests and priestesses. The woman is a symbol for the entire church and our relationship to Christ. When Sis Eubanks spoke in that tiny group in my stake she elaborated:
“The church was organized on April 6 1830 and the first thing Joseph Smith did was translate Genesis 1-8 which became the book of Moses. ” The church learned new stories about Moses and Enoch. Joseph Smith learned he was one in a line of dispensational prophets. He was carrying on the work that they started. Moses was trying to create a nation of priests. However, the people were too scared (lazy learners) to approach God and wanted Moses to do it for them . The Lord had Joseph learn more of their story because he too was having amazing revelatory experiences, gathering Israel, walking with God, and creating Zion. In Moses day only one priest went through the veil per year. The people in the end refused to go up the mountain to converse with God themselves. In the temple though all we become a nation of priests and priestesses and we all go through the veil. We are all endowed with priesthood power. Joseph Smith talked to the women about becoming a nation of priests. Contrary to what some might think Joseph Smith empowered women. He tried to keep the broad vision of the priesthood beyond the office. We, like Joseph Smith are called by name and asked to do a great work. DC 64:33: Wherefore, be not weary in well-doing, for ye are laying the foundation of a great work. And out of small things proceedeth that which is great. (My personal notes on her talk)
In Doctrine and Covenants 12 it is written for Joseph Knight Sr and it begins: 1 A great and marvelous work is about to come forth among the children of men. This sounds a lot like two other scriptures: 2 Nephi 27:26 Therefore, I will proceed to do a marvelous work among this people, yea, a marvelous work and a wonder AND Revelation 12:1 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun…
After listening to her I felt like she was telling me exactly what I needed to hear. I had been suffering from some health problems and I felt prompted to liken the scriptures to myself so I headed up on a mountain top with the story of Moses in mind to see what wonders the Lord had in store for me. As I finished my prayer and opened my eyes the sun broke through the clouds and the trees so that a bright ray was shining directly on my face as i felt the warmth of the spirit and the sun. And then as I stood up I saw a giant unneutered black bull standing at the opposite end of the field from me. This was wild because after Moses prayed he had a show down with Satan. The days following that were insane. My daughter went to the emergency room that night, there were trials, struggle and fasting. Then on the 40th day from that prayer a friend of mine decided to be baptized AND THEN I received this letter in the mail from Sister Eubank: And it arrived exactly 40 days from my experience of praying on the mountain top, feeling the love and sunshine of God on my face, and then having to face the black bull.
This great work and wonder continues today and every day I experience more miracles that flow from it. In my last post I mentioned how being invited to talk about my website with Christian Homestead Youtuber, Jared Davies (13.6k followers) after only starting it up less than a month ago is a recent miracle that has flowed from a few dreams, synchronicities, and promptings. He texted me late on the 29th and I wrestled all night with anxiety and fear at the thought of it, but also excitement. I accepted his offer on December 30th (my mom’s birthday) after waking up to the words, “Do it for my Glory“. As I was talking to him on the phone I was telling him about this post. I specifically mentioned Hannah Stoddard, the Director of Joseph Smith Foundation and one of the admin over “Raising the Bar” Facebook group (along with Julie Smith and a few more) that support women in sharing applicable ideas for raising the bar in their life. She kept popping into my mind when I thought upon current, visible women rising up to share the glory of the gospel truths by their word with the world. Rev 12 (JST) reads :
As soon as I mentioned her name (the only random name I brought up) Jared exclaimed, ” I CANT believe you just mentioned Hannah Stoddard, the Director of Joseph Smith Foundation, because I just had an interview with her TODAY. I will be posting the vid tomorrow.” My reply, “I know right! I keep having dreams about specific concepts and then THAT morning you post on the same topic and give me a new piece of the puzzle.” This BLEW me away! What a great honor to get to follow her interview! Not only that but I went back to review the interview right before Hannah and it was another awesome woman youtuber, “House Up on the Mountain” who is a descendant of Joseph Knight like me! (I’m very into temple and family history work) We have Hannah Stoddard, a descendant and huge Joseph Smith defender, book ended by two direct descendants of the Knight Family: “House Up on the Mountain” and “Firepoppy”. “House Up on the Mountain”s interview and vids are about the hard work of living in the mountains and articulating her faith, including the miracles and undeniable witnesses of truth she’s experienced (much like mine) including seeing angels in preparation for the Second Coming.
This was super a super interesting “coincidence” considering the Knights were a family of all the first miracles performed by Joseph Smith. Lydia and Newel (Joseph Sr’s Son) were the first marriage performed by Joseph Smith. Joseph Smith casting out a devil inside Newel was the first miracle JS performed. In 1833 Lydia Knight was the first member of the church to speak in tongues as encouraged by JS. They were the first family to minister to Joseph Smith. They provided JS with a job, a horse and buggy to get the plates (and date Emma), the paper that much of the Book was written on along with food, money and other necessities. They were the first to speak to JS after he was given the Book of Mormon.
The large Knight family made up 2/3 of the entire early church and are considered beloved and faithful family witnesses of Joseph Smith. I find it fascinating that in 1832 there was another Rev 12 sign in the sky. And shortly following that sign the church was blessed with an outpouring of the spirit like on the Day of Pentecost. It sounds like they were given wings like eagles. Joseph Smith wrote, “Much exhortation and instruction was given, and the Holy Ghost was poured out upon us in a miraculous manner—many of our number prophesied, whilst others had the heavens opened to their view.” Newel Knight was filled with unspeakable love and peace. He saw a vision of the Savior and learned that he would someday be admitted into the presence of the Lord.
“If one of you will rise up and open your mouth it shall be filled, and you shall speak in tongues,” replied the Prophet. Every one then turned as by a common instinct to Lydia, and said with one voice, “Sister Lydia rise up.” And then the great glory of God was manifested to this weak but trusting girl. She was enveloped as with a flame, and, unable longer to retain her seat, she arose and her mouth was filled with the praises of God and His glory. The spirit of tongues was upon her, and she was clothed in a shining light, so bright that all present saw it with great distinctness above the light of the fire and the candles.
The Knights are also credited for some of the most proliferous records of the early church experience including this record:
“One day in January 1842, the Prophet Joseph Smith listed in the Book of the Law of the Lord the names of those “faithful few” who had stood by him since the beginning of his ministry—“pure and holy friends, who are faithful, just, and true, and whose hearts fail not.” He included Father Knight: “My aged and beloved brother, Joseph Knight, Sen, (if Joseph Smith typifies Christ then it sounds like Joseph Knight was akin to John the Beloved, the author of Revelation 12.) who was among the number of the first to administer to my necessities, while I was laboring in the commencement of the bringing forth of the work of the Lord. … For fifteen years he has been faithful and true, (In Revelation 1 John refers to himself as I, John, the faithful witness,) and even-handed and exemplary, and virtuous and kind, never deviating to the right hand or to the left. Behold he is a righteous man, may God Almighty lengthen out the old man’s days. … And it shall be said of Joseph Knight, by the sons (and daughters) of Zion, while there is one of them remaining, that this man was a faithful man in Israel; therefore his name shall never be forgotten.” (Sounds like Joseph Knight was given a similar promise by Joseph Smith (speaking for God) to the promise Christ made to Mary of Bethany…both gave expensive gifts out of love) Sounds a lot like this: Verily I say unto you, wheresoever this gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world, this also that she hath done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her.
The Prophet also recalled Father Knight’s sons, “Newel Knight and Joseph Knight, Jun., whose names I record … with unspeakable delight, for they are my friends.” 19
So “House Up on the Mountain” testifies of her righteous, faithful ancestor. Then Hannah Stoddard who has Smith blood testifies the Prophet Joseph Smith and dispensation head. Now, it’s my turn: Joseph Knight was a righteous, faithful man in Israel!! I thank God for his life efforts so that I might enjoy the gospel today in my life. He ministered to the needs of the prophet Joseph Smith as he testified of Jesus Christ in special ways. Thank you Lord! May I do that same!
This scenario is a triple witness to the truth that God is in control of ALL things including times/seasons and our special links of love!
“The same God that placed that star in a precise orbit millennia before it appeared over Bethlehem in celebration of the birth of the Babe has given at least equal attention to placement of each of us in precise human orbits so that we may, if we will, illuminate the landscape of our individual lives, so that our light may not only lead others but warm them as well.”
– Neal A. Maxwell, That My Family Should Partake (Deseret 1974),
As we approach the final events leading up to the Coming of Christ may we KNOW that he placed us here at this TIME (Pres Monson, Nelson and Sis Eubank), LISTEN to the words of John the Beloved, SEE the Revelation Sign in the Heavens that he prophesied of, UNDERSTAND what is coming soon, and ACT in wisdom:
- LOVE GOD: ACT in Bold worship/ love of God as Mary of Bethany did
- LOVE ONE ANOTHER: minister to the needs of others in higher holier way and support the marvelous work and wonder of the restoration as the Knight Family did.
The Rev 12 Sign of the Woman Typifies the Whole Church!
This sign and Rev 12 concept is not just for women because the symbol of a woman typifies the entire church and our relationship to Jesus Christ. So every time I mention women think about not JUST the gender but the entire church as well. Signs often point to something happening in the near future and my bets were on the upcoming General Conference in Spring. Little did I know there were big changes coming very soon after Sept 23, 2017. You might call it leveling up to “higher and holier ways” or being “given wings” Revelation 12:
- 13 …The dragon…persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child.
- 14 Therefore to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might flee into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.
One of the big changes that happened soon after the Rev 12 sign was that our beloved Prophet, President Monson, passed away. Another interesting sign in the heavens was that the Solar Eclipse of August 21, 2017 occurred on President Monson’s birthday. The passing of a great man followed by the “birth” of a new prophet of the restoration. At the next Spring General Conference we received a new Prophet, President Nelson. I was absolutely thrilled considering he is my 3rd cousin and I totally relate to how he had 9 daughters plus one son very last. I have 4 daughters with one son very last. With so many girls in his life I knew we would hear more about the role of women in the last days!
“This general conference (Spring GC right after the Rev 12 Sign) marks the beginning of a new season of ministering.”
At that first Spring General Conference 2018 things DID completely change and level up. We were given more freedom and proactive responsibility to follow the spirit in ministering. When we take the spirit for our guide We will be given Eagle Wings. Here are a few quotes. President Nelson:
“We have made the decision to retire home teaching and visiting teaching as we have known them. Instead, we will implement a newer, holier approach to caring for and ministering to others. We will refer to these efforts simply as “ministering.” Effective ministering efforts are enabled by the innate gifts of the sisters and by the incomparable power of the priesthood. We all need such protection from the cunning wiles of the adversary.“(sounds like eagle wings to escape the adversary to me)
“My beloved brothers and sisters, as we come to the close of this historic conference, I exhort you to study the messages of this conference frequently—even repeatedly.”
“This is the grand privilege of every Latter-day Saint … that it is our right to have the manifestations of the Spirit every day of our lives. One of the things the Spirit has repeatedly impressed upon my mind since my new calling as President of the Church is how willing the Lord is to reveal His mind and will. The privilege of receiving revelation is one of the greatest gifts of God to His children.”
President Oaks:
“We should always remember that men who hold the priesthood are not “the priesthood.” It is not appropriate to refer to “the priesthood and the women.” We should refer to “the holders of the priesthood and the women.”
Sister Oscarson:
“Today I would like for my remarks to be a bookend to that message as I talk about the young women of the Church, who are equally needed and essential in accomplishing the work of the Lord in their families and in His Church.”
President Eyering:
“I bear you my witness that the Lord has already begun a great step forward in His plan for us to become even more inspired and charitable in our priesthood ministering service.
We see faithful women who understand the power inherent in their callings and in their endowment and other temple ordinances. These women know how to call upon the powers of heaven to protect and strengthen their husbands, their children, and others they love. (Eagle wings to flee the adversary) These are spiritually strong women who lead, teach, and minister fearlessly in their callings with the power and authority of God! How thankful I am for them!”
“We know that the culminating act of all creation was the creation of woman! We need your strength!”
“… I thank you, my dear sisters, and bless you to rise to your full stature, to fulfill the measure of your creation, as we walk arm in arm in this sacred work. Together we will help prepare the world for the Second Coming of the Lord.” -President Nelson
I find it only fitting to share that as I finish this post, (10pm) that at this very moment I’m getting a text from Jared at “Christian Homestead” confirming my interview time: Jan. 10 (exactly one month from my first ever post) And I am thrilled with the fact that a very close friend of mine is taking out her endowment (finally) TOMORROW after many years as a member who just was not sure if the temple was for her. Its time for bed now to soon rise in the morning to enjoy a very sweet day as an escort at the temple of Jesus Christ to kick off Ward Conference, but not before I listen to my favorite worship song. Most of my inspiration comes from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints but we know that many righteous Christians will be with us in the Millennium when Christ comes again. I love how music connects all creeds of Christians together in unifying worship and love. The words are so beautiful and remind me of the temple: “God of creation, there at the start, before the beginning of time…You spoke to the dark and fleshed out the Wonder of Light…If the stars were made to worship so will I. I can see your heart in everything you’ve made. Every burning star, a signal fire of grace…I can see your heart 8 billion different ways. Every precious one a child you died to save. If you gave your life to love them so will I. Like you would again a hundred billion times. You’re the one who never leaves the one behind.”

Hi,
Watched you on Christian Homestead, you are amazing! I got so excited with your enthusiasm about the September 23, 2017 astronomical sign as I’ve had these amazing synchronicity of signs on it after pondering the meaning of the astronomical sign after reading Pratt’s article Clothed With the Sun, Moon Under Her Feet. If you are interested in hearing about this, email me. I think you’ll find it interesting.
